Revision Overview
Regardless of academy where you trained, the syllabus for the PV Greencard Course is defined. Our revision is based on the Modules as defined by the international workgroup. The revision covers the following:
* Basics of Electricity, Volts, Amps, Power & Energy, Ohms Law, Kirchoffs 1st and 2nd law. Series and parallel supplies and loads.
* Photovoltaic history, PV Module Construction, Silicon, Thin-Film, PERC and half-cells.
* Sun, irradiation, seasons, movement of the sun. Shading, shading analysis, albedo and umbra, elevation & Altitude & azimuth. Equinox, solstice & declination.
* PV Electrical Characteristics and Optimisers. IV Curve & environmental extremes.
* Site Survey, roof types & mounting systems, safety on site
* Planning and designing a PV System, system concepts, dimensioning, Temp Co-efficient for V, I and P
* Installing DC and AC, wiring, earthing and protection
* Commissioning, monitoring, data interpretation. Common errors
* Regulatory Framework; SANS 10142, NRS 097 and the EIR
